After months of waiting and speculation, we are finally close to the big announcement of new Sony
consoleSony, to reveal it always him, the billbil-kun dataminer on the pages of Dealabs Magazine.
Although many have already guessed what its name will be, we can now officially confirm that the next Sony console will be called PS5 Pro.
In addition to the name, more significant details about the design and other technical features of the console have been revealed, which promises to offer significantly higher power than previous models.
Thanks to the information shared by billbil-kun, it was possible to reconstruct a preview of the design of the PS5 Pro. Although no official image is available for copyright reasons, the dataminer provided a detailed account of the look of the new console.
The PS5 Pro retains many features of the PS5 Slim, such as the white color for the exterior facade and the arrangement of the USB-C ports and the power button on the front.
Some differences, however, are obvious: the PS5 Pro has three black bands at the center of the outer facades, giving a more aggressive look than the Slim version.
In addition, the new model appears slightly more often, suggesting a more powerful hardware configuration.
According to the information obtained, the PS5 Pro will be compatible with the custom fronts already available for the PS5 Slim, allowing users to maintain some aesthetic continuity and reuse existing accessories.
Uncertainty, however, remains on the presence of a disc player: the version examined by billbil-kun is devoid of it, but it may be possible to add an external one, as for the PS5 Slim.
This could be part of a Sony strategy to keep prices competitive, reducing production costs.
As for the controller, the PS5 Pro will not present any news: it will be equipped with the same white DualSense, already included in the PS5 and PS5 Slim models.
Although there are no official confirmations yet, the announcement of the PS5 Pro could take place in the first half of September 2024, as some rumors suggest.
Sony may decide to unveil the console at one of the upcoming State of Play events, scheduled for the end of September 2024.
