A new update has been released for PS4-HEN-VTX , the open-source project dedicated to jailbroken PlayStation 4 consoles , developed by EchoStretch as a fork of the original SiSTR0 repository .

PS4-HEN-VTX provides aHomebrew Enabler (HEN), which is a kernel exploit that allows the execution of unsigned code, such as homebrew applications, and access to advanced features normally blocked by the console’s operating system.

The latest release features significant improvements to the plugin loading system. Fixed path handling in the module download_prx, improved stability when loading PRX files upload_prx_to_diskwith error notifications, and implemented the ability to load PRX directly inside the process ScePartyDaemon.

Additionally, the use of patterns for syscalls has been removed in favor of directly reading the system pointer, all submodules have been updated to the latest version, and the hash for firmware 11.00 has been corrected, making the project more robust and compatible with the latest system releases.

Prerequisites

Compatible PS4 console : A PS4 (Fat, Slim, or Pro) with firmware between 5.05 and 12.02. Check your firmware version in Settings > System > System Information.
Kernel exploit : A compatible exploit is required, such as PPPwn (for firmwares 9.00–12.02) or similar exploits for older versions (e.g. 5.05–9.00). PPPwn is often used for newer firmwares.
USB Device : A USB drive formatted in FAT32 or exFAT to load the PS4-HEN-vtx payload and other necessary files (e.g. files .pkgfor Remote Package Install).
Network Connection : A stable internet connection for running the exploit (e.g. via browser or local server) and for features like Remote Package Install. Some exploits require a custom DNS server.
Exploit hosting software (optional) : A PC, mobile device, or local server (e.g. Raspberry Pi) to host the web exploit (such as PPPwn or others) and send the payload to the PS4 via browser or network.
Payload PS4-HEN-vtx : The payload file specific to the PS4 firmware.
File management tools : Software such as an FTP client like Filezilla to transfer files to the PS4 (e.g. to install homebrew or games) or a package manager for .pkg.
