LifeLua , the open-source LuaJIT interpreter for PlayStation Vita consoles developed by developer HarommelRabbid has received a new update.

LifeLua lets you run Lua scripts directly on the console with high performance thanks to LuaJIT, an optimized version of the Lua language.

The interpreter is designed to facilitate the development of homebrew, games and applications for the PlayStation Vita console, combining ease of use with high performance.

Main features

PSVita Integration: Run LuaJIT scripts natively on the console.
Advanced Features: Includes sqlite3 functions, progress messages, a photo import dialog, a new network library (for downloads, FTP, WiFi control, etc.), io library extensions (file listing, CRC32, SHA1, etc.), and more.

Practical examples: The “samples” folder in the repository shows examples of using LifeLua features .

Changelog

Added sqlite3 functions.
Added progress messages and a dialog for importing photos. Still need help fixing an issue that causes the app to crash after using some common dialogs.
Implemented a new network library, which includes file download, FTP, WiFi status check and the ability to get IP and MAC address.
Many new functions have been introduced in the library os.

You can try the samples by downloading them directly to your PS Vita (by cloning the repository, selecting the samples folder and moving it into an application that uses a LifeLua executable .SELF, i.e. eboot.bin), or by downloading the available file .VPK.
