The first images of the new Asus ROG Ally 2 handheld have leaked online , and with them an interesting novelty: an Xbox -branded version , the result of a collaboration between Asus and Microsoft .
This variant, known internally as “Project Kennan,” appears to be a black reissue of the ROG Ally 2 , most notable for a small button with an engraved Xbox logo positioned above the d-pad.

In the standard white version this button is darkened, a sign that it may be removed or replaced in the final model.
The images come from certification documents in Indonesia and the US FCC, which also reveal some specifications. Both versions have a 7-inch 120Hz LCD screen, similar to the previous model.
However, there are some important differences under the hood: the Xbox model will be equipped with an 8-core, 36W AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor , while the white version will feature a less powerful 4-core, 20W chip.
The design has also been tweaked: The corners now feature more contoured grips compared to the slanted, boxy shape of the original Ally. The entire device feels a bit thicker, but the new profile may provide a more comfortable grip.
Since the certification processes are already underway, the launch could be imminent. Everything points to a possible announcement during Computex , which starts on May 20, just a day after Microsoft’s Build conference opens .
