A new update has been released for PlaySon , the Android app developed by Sondio that allows us to manage and optimize the jailbreak process of the PlayStation 4 console .

Since its public debut on November 24, 2024, PlaySon has established itself as one of the most versatile and comprehensive tools, providing support for a wide range of firmware and featuring several advanced features.

With this new version, the “Lapse” payload is integrated, adapted by Al Azif for firmwares between 7.00 and 9.60. However, the developer warns that its use may cause problems in some apps or games, such as black screens or corrupted saves, and that it is not a completely stable solution.

Additionally, the update introduces offline jailbreak support, further expanding the possibilities of using the app even without an Internet connection.

Main features

PlaySon supports Android devices starting from API 19 and can be used with or without root access. Key features include:

Local server for sending payloads.
Install, update and manage PKG files , cheats, patches, themes, DLC, apps and games.
View installed packages.
Change, backup and restore your PS4 user profile name and avatar.
Creating and formatting USB sticks with files needed for jailbreak ( goldhen.binor exfathax_pico.img) (requires root).
Enabling and disabling GoldHEN patches .
Viewing GoldHEN logs (klog viewer) .
Support for the latest GoldHEN 2.4b18 version .

PlaySon also offers two types of jailbreak:

With root access and OTG-LAN adapter , using PPPwn exploit and DNS blocking with latest stage1 and stage2 (SISTR0 version 1.03). This mode is compatible with firmware from version 7.00 up to the latest 11.00 .
Without root access , currently limited to PSFree method for firmware 9.00 .
