A new Xbox 360 emulator is under development , known as Xenon , which stands out for its completely innovative approach compared to Xenia .
Xenon focuses on low-level emulation , trying to faithfully reproduce the behavior of the original hardware, which could lead to greater compatibility and precision in the execution of games.
Currently, the emulator is already able to run the Linux kernel on the Xbox 360 platform and has versions compatible with Windows and Linux .
However, it is still in an early stage of development, so it does not yet support running games or demos , but the development team is actively working on improving it.
Unlike Xenia , which uses a mix of high- and low-level emulation, Xenon aims for completely low-level emulation .
This means that it tries to replicate as closely as possible how the console’s processor, GPU, and other hardware components work.
The advantage of this approach is high accuracy and compatibility, but it also requires more processing resources than traditional emulators.
The project is currently being carried out by a single developer, but may attract additional contributors in the future.
Additionally, an official YouTube channel for Xenon was created , where the first demonstration videos showing running the Linux kernel on the Xbox 360 platform were posted .
To download the Xenon build , you need a GitHub account, as the download happens directly from the workflows .
The installation requires four files, including xenon.iso(the only one provided). Additionally, you need to change the HW_INIT_SKIP, HW_INIT_SKIP2and parameters SMCPowerOnType.
