Following the announcement of Lapse Exploit , developer Kameleon promptly updated the PSFree repository , the open-source WebKit-based exploit that allows the execution of unofficial code on PlayStation 4 (firmware 6.xx to 9.60) and PlayStation 5 (1.xx to 5.xx).

This new version 1.5.0 significantly improves overall stability, expands support for further firmware versions, and continues work on the porting for PlayStation 4 consoles running firmware 9.00, currently still under development.

PSFree exploits a vulnerability (CVE-2022-22620) in the consoles’ built-in browser, allowing arbitrary read/write access to the system, paving the way for further modifications, such as the execution of unsigned code.

Supported platforms

PS4 : Firmware from 6.xx to 9.60 (tested on versions such as 6.00, 6.50, 6.72, 7.02, 8.03, 9.00, 9.60).
PS5 : Firmware 1.xx to 5.xx (tested up to 5.50).

Users can contribute to the project by cloning the repository , testing the exploit on different firmwares, or reporting bugs on GitHub .
