This guide will explain step by step how to create and resign the save data needed to activate the Lua + Lapse exploit on a PlayStation 4 console with firmware 12.02 , even without a modified console.

This free method uses a Discord bot to resign your saves, without the use of paid tools or a jailbroken PC.

Lua is a userland vulnerability that, in combination with Lapse (kernel vulnerability), allows unsigned code to be executed on PS4 up to firmware 12.02.

However, Lapse does not work on 12.02 , so the exploit only allows the Lua environment to be automatically started via modified save data, useful for future payloads or exploits.

Requirements

A PS4 with firmware 12.02
A Lua -compatible physics game (e.g. X-Shel , Raspberry Cube ).
- Alternatively, a Japanese PSN demo downloaded in the past — now no longer obtainable.
A jailbroken console (at least to generate the first save).
A USB stick in FAT32 .
The Apollo Save Tool app (PS4 Homebrew).
The PS4 AutoLua Loader package (latest version).
An activated PSN account on the console.
Access to Discord (HTO server) and Google Drive.

Step 1: Creating Save Data (on Jailbroken Consoles)

Start the Lua game on the console (e.g. Raspberry Cube ).
Create a new game and save.
Open Apollo , go to Save Data Manager , select the save and decrypt it to USB .
Verify that your account is activated: if Apollo shows a numeric ID, it is active; if it shows zeros, it is not.

Step 2: Preparing files (on PC)

Insert the USB stick into your PC.
Open the Apollo> folder PS4and locate the newly decrypted save.
Download the latest version of PS4 AutoLua Loader , extract it and copy the files into your save folder (overwrite if prompted).
Download the payload file for your firmware (e.g. AutoLua_12.02.bin), rename it to ,pa.vbin and place it in the root of the USB .

Phase 3: Resign and re-enter on PS4

Bring the USB back to the jailbroken PS4.
Open Apollo , select the modified save and Resign your account.
Copy the signed save to the internal disk.

Step 4: Booting on PS4 12.02 (unmodified)

Insert the USB with the file pa.vbininto the console.
Launch the compatible game.
The exploit will be activated automatically thanks to the Lua loader. If everything is configured correctly, the PS4 will enter unlocked mode and will be able to access, for example, the debug settings (if Lapse is injected in the future).

Alternative method: Resign only with Discord bot (unmodified console)

Download a ready-made Lua save data (Telegram, GitHub, etc..).
Create a PS4 folder on Google Drive , set it to “anyone with the link can edit,” and upload your save files to it.
Enter the HTO Discord server , open a thread and use the command:/resign id:<vostro ID PSN> link:<link Google Drive>
Please wait 2–3 minutes to get the signed save link.
Download it, put it on a USB in the folder PS4, insert it into the console and go to:
Settings > Data saved on USB > Copy to internal disk .
Launch the game with the USB connected to activate the exploit.

With this method anyone can prepare and use save data for the Lua exploit , even on firmware 12.02 and without a modified PS4. The most important part is the correct resign , which is easily possible via Discord. The exploit does not provide access to the kernel on 12.02, but it opens the door for future developments.
