Among the main new features, ps2_gxemu.selfit introduces new indicators for CELL, RSX, South Bridge and FPS, allowing you to monitor the console’s status in real time.

Another highly anticipated feature is the ability to control fan speed directly from the emulator, ensuring a safer and more customizable experience, along with fixing issues found in titles like Crazy Taxi Greatest Hits .

The update also includes installation packages for the PS1 and PS2 emulators, both the official ones compiled with Cobra and the modified versions by kozorovv and mrjaredbeta, compatible with all Custom Firmware versions between 4.85 and 4.92.

ps2_emu_updater_cobra.pkg: Install the official (OFW) PS1 and PS2 emulators compiled with Cobra.
ps2_emu_updater_mod.pkg: Install PS1 and PS2 emulators modified by mrjaredbeta and kozarovv.

The app uses beeps to inform the user of the status of the update. Here’s a list of the beeps:

To set the fan speed in manual mode, in the main menu press and:

: -1%
: +1%
: -5%
: +5%

In manual mode, the fan speed is limited between 21% and 80%. Attempting to exceed the maximum limit has no effect, while going below the minimum limit reactivates the automatic SYSCON control.

WARNING: Keeping the fan speed between 21% and 30% for extended periods could damage your PS3. Remember that when the fan is set manually, it will not automatically increase if it overheats .

Use the 21%-30% range only if you are sure your PS3 is not having temperature issues.

To set a new automatic fan mode, in the main menu press + .

This mode offers four available temperature settings (cycling with additional presses of + ): 60°C, 65°C, 70°C, and 75°C. This is the maximum limit that the new automatic mode will attempt to maintain by adjusting the fan speed.

The fan may spin faster at first, but after 2-3 minutes, it will reach the minimum speed needed to maintain the set temperature. When the 75°C setting is reached, pressing + again will return the fan to SYSCON mode.
