A new beta update has been released for OrbisPro , the Windows PC program developed by developer SvenGDK , which features an interface similar to that of the PlayStation 4 console .

A sort of media center and game launcher that also acts as a frontend for running ROMs through emulators like Mednafen , Dolphin and PCSX2 .

In this release, internal changes have been made to improve the stability of the ISO reader and optimize the search system for icons and wallpapers, limiting the scan to a single list of game aliases.

The “Home” screen loading behavior has been revised to fix the incorrect arrangement of apps and games when loading, reloading, or adding new content.

Additionally, input is now disabled until “Home” has finished loading, and detection of games installed on disk C:has been improved.

At the moment, automatic game detection only works in the C:\Program Files (x86)and folders C:\Games, but a future update is planned that will extend this feature to other discs as well.

The exclusion list, which prevents certain items such as the launcher or error reporter from appearing, has been updated to now also include GOG Galaxy and REDlauncher , if they are present on the system.

19 new icon sets and 17 new wallpapers have been added, plus preliminary support for Asus ROG Ally X and MSI Claw models for future use.

Among the fixes, some occasional crashes in File Explorer and a graphical anomaly related to the background animation when selecting apps or games without associated graphic assets have been resolved.

Finally, the “Media” app has been removed from the internal tools, as it was considered superfluous compared to the already integrated file explorer.

OrbisPro is currently in BETA, which means that some bugs may occur while using the application. Users are advised to consult the How to Use OrbisPro Wiki available at https://github.com/SvenGDK/OrbisPro/wiki/First-Run for detailed instructions.
