A new update has been released for Vita Moonlight , the PlayStation Vita port and client of Moonlight originally developed by xyzz and currently maintained by AorsiniYT .

Moonlight (formerly known as Limelight) is an open source implementation of NVIDIA’s GameStream protocol.

It implements the protocol used by NVIDIA Shield and allows developers to write third-party clients. Moonlight Vita is one such client for the portable console.

To function properly, the tool requires a PC with a compatible NVidia graphics card for streaming from the PC to the PlayStation Vita.

Among the main new features introduced in this update, a complete reorganization of the shortcut system stands out, now divided into separate source files to improve code readability and maintenance.

We’ve also fixed some issues with ghost key presses when using overlays and shortcuts, and improved command state management.

Finally, the internal code has received a major overhaul, making overlay and input handling more robust, ensuring smoother and more reliable client operation.

Upcoming Features

R1/L1 <-> R2/L2 Swap : ability to swap the functions of the R1/L1 and R2/L2 buttons directly from the setup menu, for greater convenience and flexibility.
Artemis/Apollo Compatibility : Support for Artemis/Apollo (a modified version of the Sunshine host) is planned, to allow streaming from multiple sources and custom servers.

How to open the Pause menu

To access the pause menu at any time (even in touch mode), press: START + L + R
This shortcut works regardless of the touch mode selected (Absolute Mouse or Touchscreen) and allows you to quickly access the in-game options menu.

How to open the floating keyboard

To open the virtual keyboard in elevated mode at any time, press: START + LEFT ARROW
This shortcut always opens the keyboard in elevated mode, avoiding covering the main screen. It works in all touch modes.
