MAME v0.278 Released: Audio Revolution, New Emulation Systems, and Graphical Improvements for Arcade and Home Computers - chép game pc , ps2, ps3, ps4, ps5, switch...

A new update has been released for MAME (acronym for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator ) , the program allows us to emulate various Arcade game platforms on Windows PC, MacOS and Linux .

After a two-month hiatus to perfect a major technical innovation, the team has officially introduced a new audio system, a completely rewritten component that marks a major step forward for sound emulation.

Among the main improvements are native support for WASAPI on Windows and PipeWire on Linux, the ability to handle audio input for those systems that use microphones or sound capture devices, multichannel audio output and the presence of integrated effects such as a parametric equalizer and dynamic range compressor.

The sample rate conversion system has also been improved, now offering cleaner audio with reduced latency. However, since this is the first release with this new audio architecture, you may encounter some imperfections that will be smoothed out in future updates.

Work on emulation has not stopped, however. Numerous graphical issues have been fixed on 3D systems such as the Sega Model 2 and Taito Type Zero , while for 2D classics there have been aesthetic tweaks on various Konami titles , including support for the often overlooked cocktail mode.

Additionally, the incomplete display of graphs in Long Hu Bang , the popular mahjong game from IGS, has finally been fixed .

In terms of new emulated systems, the update is particularly rich: historic Exidy and Taito arcades from the 70s have been added, LCD games from the former Soviet bloc, numerous recently dumped TV games, as well as rare versions of Gaelco and unreleased Capcom titles , musical devices such as workstations and sequencers, game watches, casino games and much more.

Speaking of the latter, the default control mapping for some gambling games has been changed, which is something to keep in mind for those who use them.

Finally, computer emulation has also received improvements. The Victor 9000 has seen a major upgrade to floppy disk support and the addition of SASI hard disk support.

The Sanyo PHC-25 received numerous revamps, while the Atari 8-bit machines finally had serial communication for the POKEY chip implemented correctly.
