A new update has been released for MAME (acronym for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator ) , the program allows us to emulate various Arcade gaming platforms on Windows PC, MacOS and Linux .
The purpose of this emulation is to document the functioning of coin-op arcade machines, preserving the history of video games over time.
Among the main features of this update is the optimization of the 64-bit recompiler for ARMv8, introduced a few months ago and now made even faster, ensuring superior performance.
Also fixed several graphical issues found in Konami GX arcade games and Philips CD-i software , improving their visual performance.
Also added were several IGS gambling titles and Chinese versions of some Dynax mahjong games . Another step forward was made with the LinnDrum percussion synthesizer , which is now fully functional, offering interactive controls and operational audio output.
On the sound front, several bugs in the audio emulation of various arcade games have been fixed, making the experience more faithful to the original.
PC-88VA emulation has seen significant advances, with fixes made to multiple graphics modes, while new supported peripheral devices have been added for the TI-99 family of computers.
Some CPU and DSP fixes promise to improve the emulation of Sega ‘s 3D arcade games , making the simulation smoother and more accurate.
Psion portable devices have also benefited from this update: they now correctly recognize more memory configurations and offer cleaner, more pleasing video output.
There is no shortage of other technical fixes, such as problems with the creation of CHD files, the handling of floppy disk images, and the output of system information in XML format.
Finally, Windows users will appreciate a new option that allows debugger windows to appear in the taskbar and window switcher, improving the overall usability of the program.
