A new update for the CERBIOS beta, the custom BIOS for the Microsoft XBOX OG console includes LBA support for 8TB hard drives.

The update features several news and fixes, such as the “Dogs Are Back” home screen, also improved the dual HDD functionality with UDMA settings optimized for better performance, allowing you to easily configure both the master drive and the slave drive.
The latest version of LithiumX now allows navigation of the second HDD while general improvements have been made to increase system stability.
Support for dual HDD is a new feature for the Xbox OG and some bugs may occur. Team Cerbios encourages users to test and report any issues via their Discord channel.
Custom formatting of the second HDD requires FATXplorer 3.0 beta 32 or higher, downloadable from FATXplorer.
To support dual HDD functionality, open-source dashboards need updates. Source code-free software may require manual patches and patches with the community are encouraged.

UDMA mode
UDMA (Ultra Direct Memory Access) is a transfer mode used by the kernel. The increase in UDMA mode has been shown to improve the loading times of some games up to 20% more.
A full benchmark with SSD and StarTech shows that the disk performance is 70% to 100% faster overall. The increase in UDMA mode will require an 80-wire IDE cable.
The Xbox retail uses UDMA 2 (33 MB/s) by default. The maximum UDMA mode supported by the Xbox southbridge is UDMA 6 (133 MB/s HDD ?– CPU).
- UDMA 6 is experimental and must be used at your own risk.
- UDMA 6 DOES NOT WORK WITH ALL ADQUATE HIDE A SATA.
- UDMA 6 is confirmed to work and be stable with StarTech adapters.
- UDMA 5 and 6 are unstable on adapters based on the RXD-629A7-7, while UDMA 4 seems to be working properly.
- The WLXKG-863B adapters are the worst I’ve tried and are largely untested.
FAQ
