[PS5 scene] LightningMods working on new features in etaHEN: Automatic plugin start and mmOS-style interface
The well-known developer LightningMods, also active in the homebrew scene, is currently engaged in the development of new features within the etaHEN payload for
The PlayStation 5jailbroken consoles.
Among these, one of the most awaited is the implementation of the automatic start-up function of plugins, along with other innovative features.
The Autostarted Plugin Startup Function
LightningMods recently sought the community’s opinion on the implementation of this new feature. Users were asked to choose between two different options:
- Plugin List Manual: In this mode, to update the list of plugins after a change, you would need to press “back” and select the plugins again to see the changes.
- Separated Menu for Toggle: Alternatively, a dedicated menu could be introduced, placed at the top or bottom of the plugin list, which would allow you to activate or deactivate the automatic starter more directly.
The developer invited users to express their preferences in the comments, creating an active and participatory discussion within the community.
Desktop interface in the style mmOS
In addition to the plugins’ autostarting feature, LightningMods is exploring another interesting project: creating a mmOS-style desktop interface for managing files on the PlayStation 5.
This system would take advantage of the
console’s native graphics API, known asthe Advanced Graphics Core (AGC), to give users an advanced and intuitive way to organize and manage files.
