A new update has been released for PS3 Disc Dumper , the utility developed by developer Ilya to create decrypted copies of PS3 game discs.

In this new version the application has undergone several significant technical changes that have improved its performance and compatibility.

The internal WMI library has been replaced with a third-party implementation, which brought greater compatibility with the file trimming feature.

Additionally, an issue with identifying the primary Blu-ray drive on Windows has been fixed, resulting in a slight performance improvement.

One of the goals of this update is to also reduce false positives from Windows Defender, which could previously mistakenly detect the app as a threat.

The GUI has been updated to Avalonia UI v11.3, a change that may fix some previously reported bugs.

The DiscUtils library has been updated to a more active fork, allowing for an impressive speedup in disk structure analysis, up to 35 times faster than the previous version.

However, an early version of this update had problems reading disks containing files split into multiple segments ( multiextent files ), but the subsequent release of version 4.3.4 fixed this bug, re-establishing correct support for such files.

Requirements

Compatible Blu-ray drive.
The disk must have a decryption key, either in the redump database or in the IRD library.
For the binary version you may need to install .NET prerequisites.

Guide

Upload the executable ps3-disc-dumperto any folder.
- On Linux, make the file executable (via Properties > Permissions or via the console command $ chmod +x ./ps3-disc-dumper).
Start the dumper.
Follow the instructions.
- On Linux you may need to confirm automatic mounting or mount the disk manually (via file manager or $ mountconsole command).

By default, all files are copied to the folder where the dumper is located; you can select a different location in Settings.

If you have a custom key or IRD file, you can cache it locally (see Settings for exact location). Logs are located in Settings at the bottom.
