A new update for VitaDB Downloader has been released, the Vita client allows us to download and install homebrew applications directly from the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV consoles .

This new version introduces several fixes, such as a bug that caused the background to flicker when viewing pop-ups, such as those shown during downloads.

Additionally, links to PSM Runtime content, previously hosted on Sony’s servers, have been replaced with those from archive.org, thus restoring the functionality of the automatic libshacccg.suprx.

Also fixed the behavior of the progress bar when downloading PSM Runtime, which now updates correctly in real time.

Multiple download operations, such as downloading missing icons, now accurately show the total and updated count during the process.

Also restored a notification message that was incorrectly removed during the ShaRKF00D extraction phase in the automatic installation process of libshacccg.suprx.

Finally, the use of zip/vpk files has been replaced with the more performant psarc archives , which allow for faster extraction and therefore shorter installation times for applications.

Installation

Extract the module libshacccg.suprxif you haven’t already done so by following this guide .
Download and install the vpk file on your console.

Characteristics

Search by homebrew author/name.
Filter apps by category.
View all available screenshots for apps.
Sort apps by different criteria (Most recent, Oldest, Most downloaded, Least downloaded, Alphabetical, etc.).
View various metadata for apps.
Download and install vpk+data or vpk files only at your discretion. (No more re-downloading data files every time you want to update a homebrew for which the data files are unchanged)
GUI based on the beloved ImGui, which provides a very robust user experience without sacrificing imagination and with high customization.
Fast boot time (only the first boot will take a little longer due to the downloading of app icons. Subsequent boot will be virtually instantaneous).
Low storage usage (screenshots are served on demand, the only data that is kept in storage are app icons with a total storage usage of less than 10 MB).
Track installed apps and their status (outdated/updated) even if not installed via VitaDB Downloader.
Background music (you can customize it by changing it ux0:data/VitaDB/bg.oggto your favorite track).
Background image/video (you can customize it by changing ux0:data/VitaDB/bg.mp4or ux0:data/VitaDB/bg.png).

Homebrew Updater Daemon

Starting with version 1.7, VitaDB Downloader features an optional daemon that allows it to check for updates of installed homebrews in the background.

When the console starts and every hour after the first boot, it will check for updates and, if found, will trigger notifications to notify the user of their existence.

By default, a couple of homebrews are blacklisted by this process because they are either nightly builds (for which it is unreliable to perform server-side hash checksums to perform an update check) or because the app’s TitleID is in use by two or more applications (making it impossible to perform an update check).

You can also add other homebrews to the blacklist (for example, if you are using a modified build that would be marked as obsolete by VitaDB Downloader).

To do this, create the file ux0:data/VitaDB/daemon_blacklist.txtand add inside it a list of Title IDs of the homebrews you want to blacklist in this format ABCD12345;ABCD12346;ABCD12347.
