A new update has been released for NTR Viewer HR , the streaming client that allows you to receive and view real-time wireless gameplay streaming from your New 3DS console (including New 3DS XL and New 2DS XL) on a computer.

Compared to previous streaming clients, such as the classic NTRViewer , NTR Viewer HR offers advanced features. It supports streaming at high frame rates, up to 60-90 FPS with NTR-HR , depending on settings and network quality.

It has options to adjust video quality and screen priority, and includes optional filters, such as the NN filter , which reduces JPEG artifacts, although it may make small text or images too sharp.

One particularly useful feature is the Boop -inspired automatic detection of the 3DS ‘s IP address , which makes setup easier than other viewers.

It also allows you to change the viewer port, a useful feature for simultaneously streaming gameplay from multiple 3DS consoles to the same PC.

The newly released update adds a command line option for Vulkan debugging and makes changes to how MoltenVK loads on macOS.

To start streaming, you need to run NTR-HR on your 3DS console and select the 3.6HR option .
On your PC , you need to launch NTR Viewer HR , enter the IP address of your 3DS (which can be found via FBI > Remote Install > Receive URLs… ), then adjust parameters such as quality and priority factor , and finally press Connect to start the connection.

Notes

To optimize the speed of your 3DS WiFi connection, it is recommended that you set your hotspot device to the 2.4GHz band . Routers usually offer an option to disable the 5GHz band or similar functions.

If you don’t want to change your router settings, you can use a WiFi dongle that supports AP mode , set it to 2.4 GHz via Device Manager, and connect your 3DS to the hotspot created by the dongle.
