A new update has been released for MAME4droid , the arcade emulator for Android devices, following the same changes implemented in the official version available on Windows PC, MacOS and Linux.

MAME ( Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator ) is a software capable of emulating various arcade gaming platforms. The purpose of this emulation is to document the functioning of coin-op arcade machines, preserving the history of video games over time.

This version of MAME4droid is compatible with over 40,000 ROMs and games from various systems, including ZX Spectrum , Amstrad CPC and MSX .

Although compatibility is high, not all games work perfectly. Some may not run or may suffer from performance issues, due to the variety of games and systems supported.

The update brings MAME to version 0.276 , introducing Dynamic Recompiler (DRC) optimizations and fixing graphical issues in Konami GX series arcade games and Philips CD-i software .

Additionally, some improvements have been made to CPU and DSP management, which should increase the accuracy and smoothness of the emulation of 3D arcade games developed by Sega.

Animated touch stick or DPAD.
Customizable button layout in the app.
Replacing the tilt sensor for joystick movement.
Display 1 to 6 buttons on the screen.
Options for video aspect ratio, scaling, rotation, etc.

Usage

After downloading and installing MAME4droid 2024, you need to load arcade game ROMs into your device.
ROMs must be placed in the folder /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.seleuco.mame4d2024/files/roms/(or other folder configured in the app).
Once the ROMs have been loaded, the emulator is ready for use.

Important: MAME4droid only supports ROM set ‘0.273’, so please make sure the ROMs you download are compatible with this version .
